Bree had a two-year-old play date and I left them unsupervised for about 5 minutes and came back to find them in matching dance dresses. It was just too dang cute, so I had to get a few pictures.
We usually decorate gingerbread houses and/or trains Christmas Eve, but this year I ended up just needing something to fill an afternoon. It's nice getting it done early so the girls can snack on the nasty candy all December long.
We went to the All I Want For Christmas Expo and it was more fun than I had expected. We got their early and there was a really short line to see Santa and they gave us a free cookbook for being one of the first 100 people through the door.
I really, really wanted to fix Santa's hair since it was in his eye and he couldn't see, but I thought that may be crossing the line! I noticed later when I went to a website to download our pictures that he came out looking much better for later sessions! Bree thought Santa was CREEPY!
This was the 2nd time through the line about an hour later when she had seen that a bunch of other kids could sit on Santa's lap and that he wasn't going to take her, attack, her or whatever else she thought he would do.
A little sugar rush to keep us going. The lady was nice and split it up between three cups.
We got to pet two reindeer. One was a baby and man were they cute!
These boys were just so cheesy in their elf costumes, but they were the best helper getting the girls their coloring pages and explaining crafts to everyone.
After the expo, we took the girls to the library because Sadie's teacher said Sadie needed to be picking out higher level reading books. Good job Sadie! She is pretty obsessed with this fairy series and I've been taking her to the dollar store to pick out a prize when she finishes a book. And we cannot forget about Emmy. She is on lesson 75 of 100 reading lessons and I am glad I kept Sadie's little reading books she brought home in kindergarten because Emmy will just take those into bed and read and read. And for some day when Bree is reading this post....you can sound out letters awesome and really want to be like your sisters so you will pull out the reading lesson books and we will do the best we can sounding out word.
More December stuff...dress rehearsals for dance recitals.
I went to eat lunch with Sadie on crazy hat day. Sadie was so proud to wear a hat that she had knit. The loom she was using was about one size too small, but she stretched that hat on her head and was as happy as can be. She told me that she told her teacher, and the recess duties and everyone else she could that she had knit her hat and that they were all way impressed.
A few crafts...Emmy is going through the exact same stage Sadie did where they think they need to be making something every spare minute of the day!
Look at how much they have changed...CRAZY!!
