It's A Big Day for the "Breeze Queen"

This morning she was nowhere close....and by tonight she is all over the place. So happy it finally clicked! I guess it is time to baby proof once again!

Snow Day!

Now to just Bree out in the snow... Brian's taking the girls sledding tonight so there's my big chance.

Stoked

Last night out of nowhere Brian committed to running the MADD half marathon with me in July! It is so nice to have a partner and not have to do it alone because it was giving me some anxiety, but I am so excited to do it now! I told him if we just love it there is the one at Mesa Falls that I've always wanted to do too.Yay!

 Here are some oldies (but goodies)!

Emmy's Phobia

Emmy has a fear of Hayley Mills! We were watching The Parent Trap two weeks ago and when the sisters find eachother and chop off one of the girls hair so they can switch places has scarred Emmy for life. I have trained her well not to cut her hair I guess. When they started to chop off the hair Emmy ran from the room screaming...literally screaming like someone was trying to kidnap her or that she had seen the scariest thing in the world.

So fast forward to this week and we were watching Pollyanna and Emmy just sees Hayley Mills (with long hair mind you) and has the exact same reaction. Complete terror! She yells at us that we are watching a scary movie and cries and cries for us to turn on a Christmas Barney special that I guess makes everything better.

So then last night I had a dream that Hayley Mills was trying to push us off a cliff and ended up in a sleeping bag and slipping off of the cliff herself. Poor girl. Everyone I'm sure thinks she is probably the sweetest most wholesome actress in the entire world... but Emmy thinks otherwise :)

One more funny Haley Mills story. Sadie saw that we borrowed Pollyanna from Grandma and Papa and she said, "Mom, it's the girl that set the trap." And I was really confused about what she meant and then it clicked. She had set the "trap" to get her parents back together in The Parent Trap. Such a clever girl :)

"The Most Wonderful Day of the Year"

Amazing how fast it can go from this...to this.

All three girls woke up 6:15am and discovered that Santa had come. Emmy was most excited that Santa got her candy in her stocking and really didn't care about much else besides her bubble bath and new owl towel. By 7am she was enjoying a Christmas morning bath. What a way to spend Christmas morning.

 Brian is always in charge of setting things up Christmas morning and that includes all the new electronics.

Someone's excited about his new 3D movie or at least likes me to pretend I bought him what he wanted.

 Sadie bought Emmy a really cute tea set and they had a nice morning cup of M&M's.

 Bree only opened a few presents and then was exhausted and had to take her morning nap. By the time she woke up the lighting in the house was so much better! Maybe someday when my girls sleep in I won't have to use my flash and I can have beautiful sunny Christmas morning pictures.

 Brian came through by buying the girls glitter tattoos. We've had a lot of sparkly fun with these!

 Sadie pleaded with Santa in all her letters for a cash register and this one scans, has a microphone and a calculator...but it has really not seen much action compared to the....

kitchen from Nanny and Gong! These girls have been cooking up a storm and trash the playroom daily by preparing and eating meals with all of their stuffed animals and friends.

Later that day we went to Papa & Grandma's House and they made an amazing meal and we had a second Christmas opening up more presents. They were some spoiled girls! It is really wonderful having them close so we don't have to travel far with three young, unpredictable, highly emotional girls!

Now that all of my Christmas posting is over I have no excuse to listen to the Christmas station on Pandora. It's a sad day :( haha...now I need to go catch up Oct and November pictures which I entirely skipped over pretending to be all caught up! Did I trick anyone out there?!?

Twas the Night Before Christmas

We spent the first half the day driving back from Utah and got home around 3pm. Brian went out to pick up some of our favorite food for our traditional Christmas Eve chowfest! The girls picked out squeeze its, I always get sushi, and Brian got boneless buffalo wings, egg rolls, and a lot of treats.  While he was out fighting the crowds, Bree took a nap and I set up a train set my Mom gave us. I was so happy when Brian arrived home safe because it was a blizzard out there.

 I set up Bree on the ground with her own picnic and she was happy with the freedom of feeding herself. 

 That night we did a little program where the girls danced around, Sadie did her dance from class and some songs from preschool.

 I can already see it next year...three little ballerina's.

 Brian read from Luke and the girls took turns dressing up.

 I love how intrigued Sadie is with the scriptures. She always asks us the most profound gospel questions throughout the day.

 It seems like there are always so many Christmas Eve traditions and since our girls go to bed kind of early it is hard to get everything in, but we still managed the Christmas Eve pajama shot.

And lastly Sadie got some Reindeer food from preschool with a lot of sparkles and made sure she put out the most delicious looking cookies for Santa that she made at the Thurman cookie bake. I'm sure Santa loved the cookie sandwich.

My Funny Little Valentine

I had a rare quiet moment with Emmy tonight where she was happy and asking me questions about Jesus and the Resurrection (she picked out an Easter book for story time ) and realized that this 2 year old is pure sweetness at heart. I love this girl of mine!

Such a Cute Thief

I've been a little obsessed with all of the chalkboard art I've been seeing all over the internet so I thought I try a little something myself. This was my first attempt.

Cookie Bake & Utah Fun

The entire crew (well not quite, but as many as we could gather!) What a crazy bunch we are!

 

My girls ADORE Auntie Leese. She lets them

explore in her room and gives them makeup brushes and lots of cuddles. She is really the best Auntie around!

Every year growing up, I would look forward to the annual cookie bake with my cousins. All of the Aunts and Grammy would supply us with endless amounts of cookies, frosting, sprinkles and we would all go to town decorating and designing cookies. I always remember my cousins cookies looked so much better than mine, and I hoped one day to be able to decorate a cookie that was half as good as theirs. I tried my luck this year and was reminded that decorating cookies is not my forte. 

 Sadie thought each cookie needed a few inches of frosting and they were quite delicious.

Someone told the kids that they were all cousins and so they all just had a ball playing and thinking they had found their long lost cousins.

That night we celebrated Christmas a little early and the kids plowed through opening presents in record time. 

 

My parents had just went on a trip to Israel and brought back souvenirs. Brian's present came in handy Christmas Eve when we read Luke 2 and were all dressed up.
