Happy Mother's Day! Brian made me the most delicious breakfast this morning. The girls were exhausted from a busy weekend in SLC so they slept in. He's been making me this yummy egg cooked in a pepper for as long as I can remember. I love that it's our tradition! Then he surprised me with tickets to see School of Rock at the Hale in SLC next Monday! I have been wanting to go to that theater for sooo long and I love musicals so I can't wait!
We came home from church and the blossoms on the tree matched my dress so well that it needed to be the backdrop of an impromptu photoshoot with the family. The dogs photobombed every picture one way or another!
Brian and I took a few regular smiling pictures that I was for some reason not smiling in....so instead I document the juicier photos :)
I got a sweet surprise text from Emmy's good friend! How thoughtful right?! I am so happy my girls have such great friends!!
I had saved this salad recipe and Brian and Sadie executed it beautifully!
So much yummy food! The potatoes weren't out yet, but imagine those too!
Bree made me the fanciest bouquet at activity days and a cool Portuguese card! Rosie has been writing me love notes nonstop. Emmy gave me a special crystal and the gift of practicing her guitar (we've been sharing tips with eachother) and Sadie made me a very delicious, fancy dessert and practiced the piano!
The girls did three different scavenger hunts for each other to pass the day! They are were so excited to figure out clues and some they had to use google translate because Emmy used the language tartar! The dogs follow behind them excitedly knowing something exciting was happening. The girl putting together the scavenger hunt is always trying to figure out what the big prize will be at the end and make it fun for each other! They get super creative on Sundays because we really try to not use electronics all day. Sometimes they watch a few church videos if the weather is bad or we are all really tired, but for the most part, they have fun making lego torture chambers or forts or playing in the backyard. I love seeing what their creative minds come up with. I feel so very privileged to be their mom!
Brian and I gave both of our mother's tropical flower baskets. We spoke with the girls last night about how wonderful our mothers were to us growing up and still help us now. It was nice we got to see Brian's mom this weekend for a wedding and concert. My mom was flying back from Europe and I sent her a text. It's hard because I feel like there is never enough we can do to show appreciation for our amazing mothers!! We truly were blessed with two self-sacrificing mothers and they are still this way to this day!
