Maui

Road to Hana – There were so many adventurous secret hikes. Swam under waterfalls. Climbing over boulders, getting waterfall’d out! Stopped Brian from swimming with dead body. Offered weed by sketchy people. Getting all the way to Hana and then having to turn around because we ran out of daylight. Food trucks in Hana were good. Panang Curry and Drunken Noodles. Best Ice cream – Coconut Glens Ice Cream (coconut milk ice cream)

Day 2 – We went to to the blowhole and it was so worth walking all the way down to it. So many people came in flipflops that they were smart not to venture down. I tell you... Keens are the very best hiking sandle. We went into Lahaina and got an Acai Bowl,  looked through some unique art galleries (I liked the Vladimir Kush gallery the most) and of course had to see the Banyan tree. That is my most vivid memory from when I came to Maui last back in the 90's. One of the nicest walks we went on was Honolua Bay because you walk to the beach through an amazing dense forest. Julia's - ate best banana bread in the world. Th coconut candy is also amazing!!
Favorite shopping – Karen Lei’s Gallery – like a local craft fair.
Day 3 – We went to the Maui Swap Meet which is nothing like the swap meet on Oahu, we got the girls some souvenirs and a wooden owl that makes sound. I should have bought the matching monkey because you blow into his butt to make the monkey sound. The girls would have loved that! I got a  breakfast crepe. And then we went snorkeling at Makenna Beach.

Smithfield Health Days

This was our family's first year going to the Smithfield Health Days in our little town. I heard it was a great event from a lot of people, and last year it got rained out so we weren't able to go.  My neighbor gave me a free entry for the race the morning of the event and was so kind to give one to me.  I was a lot more motivated to do races when I lived in Idaho, but that drive completely left me once I moved to Utah. I have toyed with signing up for races, but didn't really know which one.

I did next to no training to prepare for the race, but I do love going to HIGH which is a pretty intense cardio workout. I signed up to run the 10K knowing I could always switch to the 5K at the race. Once it was race time I turned my brain off, got in line with the 10Kers and just went for it. Honestly, it wasn't nearly as terrible of an experience as I was expecting. Yes I could hardly go up and down stairs for the next two days after the race, because I used muscles my body wasn't use to using, but the actual race was just the right amount to challenge me, but not kill me  :) I ended up getting 3rd place in my age group too and even got a medal. Yay me!

Right after the race I went home and we loaded up pretty quick to get to the parade. It was nice going to a parade where we weren't sitting in the scorching heat! The girls got a lot of candy and a few frisbees and I came away with a few coupons. It was a great time for all!

That night Brian came with me on a mystery shop to Five Guys = free date night.

Spring Break 2019 St. George

SWIMMIN'
The hotel we stayed in had fun murals in the hotel room and by the pool.
The girls got along best when they were in the pool playing. They spent a lot of hours in that pool which provided a lot of hours I could spend reading. I finished the book, Yellow Crocus. The girls made new friends each time they went swimming. Rosie decided to pick on/tease/flirt with a pair of brothers by dripping water on their hair and jumping and splashing in their personal space until they finally acknowledged her presence.

GOOD EATIN'
Pizza Factory

Brian and I went on a date to a Mexican restaurant and this art piece was so weird, I needed a picture to always remember it.
Nielson's Frozen Yogurt - we spent as much money there as we did on our most expensive meal in St. George. It was good, but we had to wait forever to get our order. Poor Sadie ended up dropping two of the ice creams right in the middle of the line of people when she was bringing them over to us.
Beaver Tacos
Rosie and Bree looked so similar eating their ice cream cones that I told them they looked like twins. Emmy wanted to know if she looked like Bree because everyone is always saying how much she looks like her.
So I got a picture of them too!
PLAYIN'
We hardly spent any time at the dinosaur all access park because it was so crowded. And it felt like one of the hottest days we were there. I did run into my cousin Emily though which was fun! I follow her on goodreads and we have been reading so many of the same books lately.
We ran into a friend from our ward in Smithfield at the trampoline jump house. I was expecting to run into more people we knew, but never saw anyone else.
Brian and I snuck away early one morning and did a session at the St. George temple. It is going to be closed for four years and I had only been inside for Devin and Neesha's wedding, but it was really fun to see the art work inside and have a nice morning with Brian.

HIKING
Pioneer Place - Our girls LOVE wandering and exploring. They complain quite a bit when they are hiking and have to stay on the trail. So this place is perfect for them. We went to the garden and up there to explore three times while we were there. I also woke up early one morning and found a trail run close by that I really enjoyed. Our hotel was just down the hill so it was a good place for us to hang out.

I just barely fit so I got to go through this narrow spot with the girls.
