Utah

_DSC5880_30

We went down to Utah a couple weeks ago for my Mom’s Birthday, a Thurman Reunion, and just because it is plain fun to go. Brian got to stay for the weekend and then headed home to work hard so we could play hard in Utah.

Here is my dad (in the middle) chillin’ with a couple of his brothers.

During the week I got to see my sister in the play Big River at Sundance. She was AWESOME. I hadn’t seen her in a play for almost three years! She played three different characters and nailed each one perfect.

We spent a lot of time swimming in my parent's pool.

I should have got a picture of their waterfall. It is amazing. We sat by the fire pit one night and roasted marshmallows and just enjoyed all the hard work my parents put into keeping their yard gorgeous.

We had a birthday celebration for my Mom where my cousins and Aunties came.

Caleb, Evie, and Sadie are at that age where birthdays are about the most exciting thing in the entire world!

Lisa and I went to a sushi cooking class at Thanksgiving Point. Can I just tell you how much I LOVE hanging out with Lisa. She is always up for anything and I know I will always have a great time with her. Lisa and I discovered that night how much we like eel. We were putting it on everything and just stuffing as much as we could in our mouths when no one was looking. There were also these little orange fish eggs that the instructor told us were expensive so we were dumping that on everything too. I know we are a little strange!

Sushi

On the drive home we needed a breather so we stopped at a rest stop in who knows where. I went to the restaurant that was a part of the gas station and I was only planning on using their highchair and leaving, but then the waitress brought us a menu and I felt like I should just order something at that point. So I knew Sadie would eat pancakes and that it wouldn’t take them that long to make so I ordered pancakes from the kids meal and this is what they brought. That is the biggest kids meal I have ever seen. Sadie was in HEAVEN!

And we made is home in one peace! That is always good too...

Wheat Field Pics II

Actually it’s a barley field, but it’s still cool....and it is still a tradition! My friend Amber and I did a photography swap last Sunday and I LOVE THEM! I can’t wait to edit hers too. It is fun to compare them to last year pictures and just think I was about two months pregnant with Emmy and Sadie was just barely walking. My how things can change in only a year!

Happy Half Birthday

Emmy had her six month check up on Tuesday and here are her stats...Weight 17lbs. 13 1/2 oz (80%), Height 27 1/2in (94%), Head Cirm. 17 3/4 (96%). This is all Sadie will let me write for now...she is crying “bideo of Sadie”.... more to come later. Story of my life! I’m back... Emmy got four more teeth this week! Her two front teeth are going to have such a big space between them too. It will be really cute! I figured I should try and get some pictures before my baby has a mouth full of teeth.

Emmy doesn’t like any of her teethers so we found that a carrot works just as well!

Sadie and I have been watching this and laughing our heads off!

Blue Angels

_DSC5722_30

We got back from Bear Lake just in time to see the Blue Angels on Sunday. One of the planes smoke wasn’t working, but it was still fun to see them in tight formations and zooming right overheard. I have had some fun actions I wanted to try out but never had the right pictures so I was happy to be able to finally use them on the Blue Angel shots.

This is the only shade in our backyard so we all stayed very close to the “wee fun”. Brian took a bunch of videos of the planes and I told him we would never end up watching them because it was kinda something you had to see in person... well I was wrong. They are just as cool on video as in person.

Sadie was a little sick and was not appreciating the loud jets. It kinda made me glad that we took off for Bear Lake for a week so we didn’t hear them practicing all week.

Bear Lake

After Shoshone Falls we drove to Bear Lake for a couple days of fun in the sun! We spent a little time at the lake because it was pretty windy and lots of time at the pool. Sadie obviously had more fun in the sand than in the water.
Emmy spent most of the time in her car seat protected from the wind.
Brian was in charge of the feast... a burger, hotdog and Boca burger. For dessert we had s’mores...Caramellow s’mores to be precise.
This is a Stewart inside joke, but I will share... Brian, his Mom, and we found out Sadie too stick their tongue out when they are concentrating hard. Who knew something like that could be hereditary!!!
This picture goes to show that I am a really mean Mom!
We stayed at Harbor Village and it was on my bucket list of things to do places to stay.
We found this cute little frozen yogurt/cupcake place.
We had a dang good trip.
