My Dad gave a great talk about Joshua and the Israelites marching around Jericho for seven days and blowing their trumpets and how the walls came tumbling down and they took the city. He explained how this was just the start of their mission and that they would go onto conquer other cities. He spoke about how the Savior was baptized and that was just the start of his mission. Then he likened how Emmy's baptism was going to be just the start of her mission. I like how he said Emmy had been walking amongst the gentiles on the earth for 7 years and now that she was getting baptized she was blowing her trumpet and beginning her mission.
All the kids gathered around the baptismal font and Asher gave Emmy a few knocks on the glass for good luck. Brian baptized Emmy and she said she loved seeing all of her little cousins smiling so big!
I met Emmy in the bathroom and was grateful there was a communal towel that I could use to dry Emmy off because I had only packed a blow dryer and brush....ooops!
Next the cousins sang their beautiful musical number and my Mom and Lisa accompanied! Katie gave a wonderful talk that included so many of the cousins. I remember on my baptism day my Auntie Barb wrapping me up in a fuzzy blanket and saying the Holy Ghost is a comforter and helps you feel safe and protected so I was so glad that Emmy had her wonderful auntie experience!
Then a Brothern from the bishopric spoke about how we can renew our covenants each week as we take the sacrament and we can feel that same clean feeling.
We had a great luncheon shindig at the house with lots of food and playing. I am so thankful everyone pitched in and helped setup and cleaned up the food because right later that day Emmy was having her friends party and I'm not sure I could have handled that much cleanup!

Birthday pictures are always fun because I only have to worry about getting one child ready and then we can spend a lot of time goofy off during pictures! Emmy is the queen of pulling faces and always is so expressive! This shoot was by far the most relaxed Emmy has been in front of the camera...can you tell :) 
Emmy was assigned to give a talk in primary today about the scripture being the word of God. So Brian told her to think about what she may want to say and when he got back his meeting he would help her write her talk. Well, Emmy took it to heart and wrote a beautiful testimony and talk all by herself! Pretty dang awesome for a little kindergartner! She was so confident and stood up in front of the primary by herself and gave her talk. Emmy likes to go on reading marathons and decided she was going to read all of the books I got for her from the library. She is in the top reading group in her class and had glowing reviews during her parent teach conference. We are so proud of this girl and I love that I can brag all I want because this is my blog dang it :)
