St Pattys 2016, 2017, 2018

2016
The Leprechaun got a hold of our Mickey Disneyland money!

2017
A lot goes on at the kitchen table.
Activity Days Show and Tell/Talent Show in our basement. Oh how I miss our stage and movie set up!!
I love Rosie's half asleep expression drinking her green milk. She must have been pretty desperate because I remember her not being happy her milk was a different color.
Bottom left with my posse. I wish I could remember what this was about.

Feeling Green

I have such a love hate relationship with St. Patrick's Day. I love looking back at old pictures and seeing the girls leprechaun trap and their creativity at it's finest. I love dressing them up in rainbows and green.  This year though they fought over the gold coins that the leprechauns left. Emmy has been very upset the last two years because she doesn't believe in leprechauns and it just breaks her heart to think that it all isn't real. We've had a lot of long talks that St. Patrick's Day is not a big holiday and that she should be really happy that she is getting candy and we do a few fun things. I've told her numerous times that all we did growing up was wear something green and maybe the milk was green, but I really only remember that one year. The expectations she has are threw the roof..... Bree set up the trap I made about nine years ago with Amber back in the days I would craft over at my neighbors house while Sadie and Brooklyn (her daughter) would just be learning how to interact and play with each other.

We ate Irish Beef Stew, jojo biscuits (from the magnolia cookbook) and Brats for lunch. Then we went to walk around USU campus and up Logan Canyon to burn off some of the kids energy. Also now that it is warming up I feel like I need to reintroduce the kids to playing outside. They rarely will go out without me majorly coaxing or dragging them out. Bree is always up for a bike ride and Sadie and Emmy enjoy the backyard, but they really don't just go outside and play on their own right now.

Brian's parents were down watching the cousins this weekend and they have the best traditions of putting together cute green treats for the girls and Brian and I. We always love this tradition and hanging out with them!

Emmy wanted a little extra dough from the biscuits today and made this CUTE bunny rabbit. Onto decorating for Easter tomorrow.

Gibbons Green Gate Farms

Late Friday night Brian got a text about needing some people to clean the church. I was already asleep and planning to go to a gym class the next day. Bree and Brian represented our family and did some cleaning and I told Brian I would come right over after my class. Once I got to the church they were just finishing up and Brian had promised Bree that he would take her to breakfast. I googled searched breakfast restaurants and a place popped up in Smithfield I had never heard about. Gibbons Green Gate Farms. I asked them if they were feeling adventurous and they told me they were thinking we should go to McDonalds! HA!!

We pulled up and Brian said "let's leave". It was the top floor of a bonus addition space next to a house kind of in the middle of nowhere. It had such raving reviews that I really wanted to give it a try. We walked over to the place and started to smell so many yummy smells just walking up to the restaurant.
It was self serve on the drinks and we drank so much hot chocolate, applejuice and cranberry cocktail while we waited for a table that Bree and I were on quite the sugar high. We got the best seat in the house because Bree could look out the window at the sheep while we ate.
This place reminded us of traveling through Europe and eating at bed and breakfast places. The food was so great and of course they used everything they could fresh from their farm so it was that much better!

Brian is such a foodie so I am glad he go into the spirit of things and decided he liked the place.

When we were leaving I was thinking that I wanted to come here for my birthday breakfast and then Bree said out loud, "I want to come here for my birthday!" Too funny. That girl and I are so much alike.
