Camping With A Two Year Old...

We joined the masses and went camping over Labor Day weekend. It seems like we average our once a summer camping trip and this one did not disappoint. We went to Swan Valley and camped at the Palisades camping grounds.  This was Bree's first year and boy did she do a lot of toddler exploring. I heard loud cries and she had somehow managed to get stuck on the horseshoe pole we were using to play so it looked like she had a poll up her bum! I just wish I would have had time to pull out my camera for that shot!!
Brian just had to laugh when he saw that Emmy had picked flowers and put them in a cup on our picnic table. Would you expect any less camping with four girls!!
More memorable things from camping...Sadie was jumping from rock to rock in the stream and managed to fall in. She was pretty upset, but in the end it was great because we all decided to wade through the icy water and it was a nice refreshing way to spend some time in the heat of the day.

We were packed in our car like sardines with all of our camping gear, but I had stayed up late the night before printing off songs to play on the guitar around the campfire so I really wanted to bring it! I ended up just putting it between my legs during the car ride and I am so glad I did. Everyone of us ended up strumming along to a few songs. Brian plays a mean, Robin hood and little John running through the forest. I can just imagine in a few years each of us with our guitars singing around the campfire. What a glorious site and sound (hopefully) that will be :)

The next morning just waking up and this is how Emmy greeted the morning!
So her funny Dad decided it was a good way too!

Just a few pictures of "Bree Bree", "pretty Bree", "Baby" - this girl has a lot of names! I was most worried that Bree was going to keep us up all night, but she slept from 9pm - 1am and then went with me to the bathroom which was kind of a fun adventure for us to walk in the pitch black with our little light and then the next day she slept in until after 7. I was really happy she did so well!

I have to say that camping with Brian is pretty dang awesome! He packs and makes all the food. That also includes cleanup. He made us tinfoil dinners and the best apple cobbler I'd ever had. Then the next morning we woke up to a mountain man breakfast (eggs, ham, cheese, hash-browns) all made in the crock pot. We of course had s'mores, hotdogs, hot chocolate, and apple cider too. Let's just say we weren't starving!
ALPINE SLIDES - we decided to head to Jackson once again because we had forgotten about the alpine slides when we went and hadn't ever taken the girls. I think you can tell by Emmy's leap they were reared up and ready to go!
Bree and I rode down first so we could capture a few pictures of the rest of the crew as they came down. Six-year-olds were suppose to ride with an adult, but Sadie and her adventurous spirit would have nothing of the sorts. So Brian forked over the additional 12 bucks so she could ride by herself. It worked out great otherwise one of us would of had to ride to the top again (although riding the chairlift is one of the best parts of the experience).
I was a bit scared sending Sadie and Emmy off on the chairlift on their own riding so high above the ground and Bree could of just slipped out the back of the seat! Yikes - paranoid mother over here!! Glad we all made it safely down the mountain!

Camping

Brian took these girls camping to the "Priesthood Commemoration"....don't remember the name. But they all had a wonderful time! What fun girls to share an itty, bitty tent with! Brian bought the smallest one he could find so he could set it up quick.

And it's funny you can't really see any babies in this shot because we had three of them with us tearing up the place while we ate dinner, went shopping and watched a movie. It was a great night with awesome girls!!

August 2011

I have been going through old photoshoots and deleting A LOT of files to clean up our computer a bit and I had accidentally saved these pictures in the wrong place and they were so closed to being deleted. Glad I caught them. Summer of 2011 s'mores and camping in the backyard.

Just a few more pictures of things from almost two years ago. Emmy and her scratched up nose.
 Books I was browsing.
A craft we made at the libarary
I love these summer memories.

Cute Daddy!

Brian is the best Dad ever! Back in July he took Sadie and Emmy on a camping excursion at Calamity Campground. All I had to do was pack the girls bags and he took care of everything else. I need him to write a story or two on this post when he gets a minute. Bree and I went shopping and to the movie with friends. That is my idea of a great weekend :)

Camping

Call us crazy, but we decided to take our two squirts camping.  We might just have to do it again too because it ended up being so much fun! Sadie and Emmy are both fearless and loved everything from playing in the dirt, to the friendly wandering dog that kept showing up at our campsite. We went to a campsite called Calamity in Swan Valley and Sadie ate s’mores for dinner, dessert and breakfast, and stayed up really late with her Dad by the campfire. We went for a few small hikes and had fun exploring a little of Palisades.

We were so close to the border that we decided to go get a few “fun” fireworks and we had a nice time with neighbors eating s’mores and lighting them off the night before the 4th.
