We've been having some great weekend getaways this summer. Two weeks ago we drove to Swan Valley and took a short hike with the girls. They were so excited about exploring! Then onto Wyoming to buy some fireworks and we ended up in Jackson Hole for buffalo burgers and some shop exploring except that most of the shops had such crazy expensive things we had to get out of there fast so our kids didn't destroy the place!
SWAN VALLEY, JACKSON HOLE
We've heard great things from family and friends about the fireworks up in Driggs and wanted to try it out. A Korean restaurant just opened in Driggs in May too, so we were crazy excited to see if it is any good since it is the only Korean restaurant in E. Idaho (besides this place in Rexburg pretending to be Korean). It was pretty authentic food beside that it seemed like they sweetened a lot of the dishes, but it made Brian happy so that is all that really mattered. We are definitely going there again!
We then had about 8 hours to kill until the fireworks started so we explored Hunstman Springs and went on a little tour of the health center and a model home. We found a unique playground for the kids too.
It was a long day for a baby that likes her naps.
Papa and Grandma were there with us too! I need to swipe some pictures off of their camera because this panoramic is the only one I have with them.
The fireworks were AWESOME and the Beach Boy concert was great too. Sadie and Emmy recognized a few of the songs from a dance class they had been too so that was fun for them. Bree has never been awake late enough to see a firework show, and she woke up from a nap just in time to see these. She did a lot of "oooh, aahhh" and "bootiful". The girls loved that they played the Pharrell Williams song "Happy" and then had exploding smiling happy firework faces. This is the great start of a Stewart tradition for us. Next year we are going to bring Frisbees and other outdoor things to kill time before everything gets started.
West Pinney was on the way (because we had taken the scenic route) so the girls got their first experience there. I have picture when I was a little girl at family reunions there so I have a very special place in my heart of West Pinney. This was back when I lived in Oregon so little did I know that I would end up living on an hour away! There was a family reunion going on when we stopped by, but everyone was really nice and welcoming and was over the slide by that point, so we just went down it a few time and then headed on our merry way.
There was a birds nest under the staircase that the girls were fascinated with.

The cousins came up to visit last week which provided hours of entertainment! The girls cousins came up too which I loved since it made my b-day celebrating so fun, but that is post for another day.
