Moving Along

Hurray! I am 30 weeks today, which seems so much further along than 29 for some reason. I had a dr. apt today and I have just been taking my girls with me to my appointments lately because then we can go and play/shop afterwards and they are kinda fun to have around Smile Usually I just try to skip the whole peeing in a cup thing while I am there because I am really bad at it and it is just so annoying, but I couldn’t fool them today so I hauled my girls into the little bathroom and they watched me pee in a cup, to which Sadie reponds, “that is SO WEIRD Mom!” I totally agreed with her and I let her know that she is never to try and do this at home (because I can just see her doing that kind of thing).  After they measured my belly and hearing the baby’s heartbeat I had my rhogam shot which once again Sadie though was SO WEIRD because she has only seen me get blood drawn or shots in my arm and I had to get this one in the butt (it still hurts). So all day long Sadie has been telling me how weird the apt was today and it just sort of has been making me laugh.

Killing time at the dr. today...

So this baby’s b-day is going to be May 7 or 9th depending on which day I get induced so put it on your calendars y’all.

PS – Here is our top three names at the moment and who likes it the most...

1. Brinley – Kelly

2. Kienna aka Kia – Brian

3. Rosie – Sadie (she is going to call the baby that no matter what. she is one determined girl)

All About Em!

 - Emmy likes to lay down by the air vents in our house and talk to the "monsters" in the basement. They are becoming really good friends. Brian sort of started her doing this. It is so funny to watch.

 - Emmy likes to say, "What would you like?" and then she'll hand you something, but you must give it right back or she gets really mad.

 - Emmy is getting all four of her molars in at the same time which has been causing gunky eyes, a runny nose, and an ear ache. Poor girl.

- It seems like all of Sadie's friends love Emmy and have adopted her as their friend too which is great because she wants to be a big girl like her sister.

- She calls Sadie "sisa" which means sister

- Emmy is into everything and loves to make water messes so much that my side of the cabinet in my bathroom has an insane amount of water damage to the wood. She closes the door to my bedroom and the door to the bathroom so I have to go searching for her.

 - She loves Tangled and watches it daily (no exaggeration people.. she has the lyrics memorized).

- Her favorite songs right now are Mockingbird Hill, I Love to See the Temple, Choose the Right, I Am A Child of God and Jesus Want's Me For a Sunbeam and knows all the lyrics.

 - Emmy's schedule goes like this. Awake at 5:50 - watches a Barbie movie until 7:30 when I wake up. Takes a nap from apx. 2pm - 4:30 and wakes up inconsolable. Goes to bed at 8pm. Wakes up at midnight to 1 inconsolable and then it all starts over again.  I know I should probably put her down for an earlier nap, but whenever I do she jumps out of her crib over and over!

- She is  having a really hard time learning her colors, but she knows the sounds of all of the letters of the alphabet.

- She loves to be chased....all day long.

- I'll have to see what Brian wants to add to the list because I am sure I am forgetting a ton of stuff!

Emmy is the BIG #2

What a fitting way for a two-yr-old to wake up on her b-day!

This morning fit lasted for a about five minutes and Brian had the video camera trying to capture her expression when she saw her decorations, so we captured a lot of crying on video!

Just when we thought she was up and coming out, she needed to do one more dramatic collapse on the floor.

Then finally she could see the décor and that today was a special day and she slowly started to sweeten up.

My friend Amber drew these CUTE Rapunzel drawings, and they made a perfect garland!

She also made these awesome hair bows for the girls. I love the little details that I could not have pulled off on my own!

The girls devoured their waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.

And then I wasn’t sure if I could get away with just hanging out watching movies until lunch with their Dad, but they really needed an activities so...

we went swimming, which has sort of become a tradition on Emmy’s b-day. A huge group of cute little blond hair, blue-eyed children showed up that looked like they could be related. My girls thought they were all so fun so it was a pretend little party with them.

For lunch we had little Rapunzel boat jello cups (that my friend Amber showed me). She was such a huge help for Emmy’s party!

The girls played smash teeth together in the bath... and Emmy took a long nap while Sadie and I worked on her cake.

Emmy found her b-day cake toppers and had to admire them until it was time to put them on the cake.

This is the time we all laugh at loud. I planned on a fondant Rapunzel tower, but last minute decided to cover the rice krispie tower with paper. Talk about lazy! I had run out of stream this late in the day...luckily just seconds later when I was taking more pictures the cake fell over.

So she got a much better backup cake! Thanks Nanny and Gong for the cake toppers. They saved my sanity.

Emmy was too busy admiring her cake to blow out her candles...so we all just waited awhile until Sadie came over and blew them out. Emmy gave her a big whack in the face for helping. Oh our 2 yr old!

Emmy’s favorite present was probably her princess pillowcase from Papa & Grandma!

We Heart Valentine’s Day!

I am going to come back to b-day posts because we had two big birthday’s before V-day, but those post always take me some time to put together so here you go...

VALENTINE’S DAY!

We awoke to fun surprises on the kitchen table from Brian. Sadie was so excited to have her candy kiss treats, but she had a little breakdown when she asked me if she could go to the store and buy herself more flowers (I guess one rose wasn’t enough for her). I tried to explain that on V-day we buy flowers and make things for other people and that made her super sad at 6:30 in the morning. So I told her when she is older and has a job she can spend her money on whatever she wanted. That seemed to satisfy her and stop the tears.

I put some rhoades roll cinnamon and orange rolls in the fridge the night before so they were ready to pop in the oven in the morning. It was a nice festive sugar buzz.

I had a few things I needed to put together so we called up Sadie and Emmy’s trusty friends Laci and Teegan and they played all morning long while I did a little playing of my own.

I put together a few neighbor treats and Sadie and Emmy’s Valentines, and by the afternoon we were ready to deliver a few things. Only one person was home so we got everything around really fast and just in time to take Sadie to Tavaci.

I couldn’t find Emmy during all the morning chaos, but she had just found a nice quiet place to hang out for a little while.

Brian got a little Valentine that I had thought up a few weeks ago. He hasn’t had a key to the mailbox for a few years now, so I finally made him a copy and turned it into a cheesy Valentine.

Emmy got a little impromptu photoshoot V-day.

I really wanted her to hold the kiss in front of her lips like we kind of did last year, but the chocolate temptation was too much for a little Em.

One year ago – MY VALENTINE’S!

Xo-Xo-Xo

That night Brian took me on a fun date. We got Chinese food, went shopping at the mall (so much fun without children)

and then got some Orange Leaf. That night we watched The River (our new favorite TV series. It is seriously awesome) and then a little of the movie, Valentine’s Day.

Hope you all had a great one too!
