Witches on Parade

We went to Utah for a week in Oct to visit my family while poor Brian had to study for two tests! I feel back that we keep doing fun things while Brian works so hard. We appreciate you Bri! Here we are at Gardner Village. This is Sadie in the Halloween costume I originally bought for her, but she decided it was too itchy. It comes with a cute hat, but the less amount the accessories the better.

We went on a weekend and it seemed much busier and crowded than I remember in years past. I’m not making that mistake again!

My sister and I took our kids down to the most popular photography location I have ever been to. When I went to take my brother and his wife’s pictures there had to be at least 15 other photographers there. Luckily it is a big area with a lot of cool spots. It was kinda fun to watch the other photographers at work.

It was Zekes’s birthday while we were there so we got to join in the festivities.

I also got to see my sister Lisa’s dress rehearsal for a play she was in where she was nominated to go to a prestigious conference in California next year (woot woot), I went on a “daddy daughter date” out to eat and then to get an hour long back massage (heaven!) with my Dad, and did shopping, and more playing. What a great week.

Other Halloween Festivities

I think this post will almost have me feeling caught up on the blog. WAHOO

We had a ward Halloween playgroup earlier in the month. Sadie’s face looks ghostly from being so sick! This is Sadie’s bestest friend Brooklyn.

 

We pulled out Sadie’s ladybug costume from last year and it fit Emmy perfect. Sadie really wanted to wear it again, but she just doesn't realize that although is is such a skinny little thing that she is about twice as tall as Emmy.

 

Sadie thought the cake walk was awesome. Half the time she was walking the opposite direction as all the other kids, but that is just how Sadie rolls.

I went to a fun girlz Halloween party and we played a game where I had to drink pickle juice. It sorta remided me of drinking ocean water, but it was still pretty rancid. I love getting together for girl nights and acting silly/stupid!

Brian and I went to Dr. Slaughter’s House of Terror on a date night. It is sorta becoming our Halloween tradition. I love that Brian takes me on such fun original dates!

Halloween Day

Halloween was a busy day! That morning I had a newborn shoot and then we went to our neighbors sealing in the temple. While we were gone poor Sadie threw up (she had been sick for pretty much the entire month of October, but is feeling much better now). After Sadie’s nap we went to the ward trunk-or-treat and Emmy slept while Brian did homework. It wasn’t our wards activity, but I still knew a ton of people. We took a bag of candy to contribute so we didn’t feel like total mooches. I did the best job I could on Sadie’s makeup, but face painting is definitely not my specialty.

We had our traditional chili and cornbread, but Brian decided that my usual open a can of chili tradition was lame and made it from scratch. Ever since then he has been making his weekly crock-pot full of chili and eats it for lunch. This last time he made it with chicken. It’s delicious! Later that night we took the girls trick-or-treating to a few houses and then Brian took Sadie to Grandma’s and Poppa’s house.

Someday I will catch up on this blog, but for now I will just post a little something, something that happened tonight.

Brian has class every Monday night, so I like to run errands with the girls to kill some time and tonight we were driving by the temple and it was all lit up and glowing. I was asking Sadie if she could see the temple up ahead and the lights on it.

Sadie asked me sweetly, “Mom, does the temple light up the entire world?” And of course I had to tell her that yes it did. What a deep little two-year-old we have!

And while I am posting, I will give an update on Emmy too. She is saying up, hot, bye bye, mama, dada, and signs all done. That has got to be the cutest thing in the world when she has her hands up waving them around signing “All Done'”! She is so dang close to crawling too that the anticipation is killing me. She gets on all four and then just rocks back and forth. I know that she is dying to try and keep up with Sadie.
